Confederation.
Mr. Jones, M. P.. for North Leeds and Grenville, has published a letter against Confederation. This is remarkable considering that Mr. Jones supported confederation last Session. We presume he has seen the error of his way. The awful length of the letter prevents us from presenting it to our readers. It is so dovetailed that extracts would convey no fair idea of its arguments. It is not even possible to give a synopsis of this literary nonsuch. We may, however, say that Mr. Jones favours a legislative union. Following the example of Mr. Powell, M. P., Mr. Jones is down upon the Radical Scotch. One of his grand points against the Quebec Conference is that the Irish population of Upper Canada were deprived of a representation at the Conference. Mr. Jones handles the Hon. Mr. Brown without gloves.
