Downing Street, April 28, 1866.
SIR,—I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch of the 9th of April, enclosing an Address to the Queena from the Legislative Council of New Brunswick, praying that Her Majesty will be pleased to cause a measure to be submitted to the Imperial Legislature, for the purpose of uniting the British North American Colonies under one Government—and of your reply.
I have to request that you will acquaint the Council that I have laid their Address before the Queen, and that Her Majesty was pleased to receive it very graciously.
