Dear Mr. Murdoch,
I have your letter about your memo- randum on the B.N.A. Act. Mr. MacNeil mentioned the matter to me, but he did not show me the documents and I am not clear as to the basis of your contention that the Federal Parliament is unable to levy direct taxation. I should be glad to read your memorandum and comment upon it if you are care to submit it to me.
