Prorogation of Parliament

Étienne Pascal Taché [Canada East, appointed 1848, Premier, Minister of Militia, and Receiver General] said he had the honor to state that His Excellency [Viscount Monck] had been advised to prorogue the House on Thursday, at 12 o’clock (noon), if there was no obstacle in the way, and that a letter would be addressed to the honorable the Speaker announcing the fact.
