Nova Scotia agrees with the inclusion in the Charter of Rights, Section 34, Sub-section 1, which will read as follows:
“The existing aboriginal and treaty rights of the aboriginal peoples of Canada are hereby recognized and affirmed.”
It is understood, of course, that the addition of the word “existing” in Section 34, Sub-section 1, will be agreed to by a majority of the eleven governments of Canada.
