THE CANADIAN’S INDEPENDENCE.

Our Hamilton cotemporary says we refer with “apparent triumph” to his claim of “independence” in his Prospectus, and reads as a homily on “extreme views of political independence.”—We can assure him, he gives us credit for an interest in his position, to which we were by no means entitled. We will be content to try his words by their plain meaning, without seeking to know the hidden causes which produce them. In the mean time, will our cotemporary give us his views on an elective Legislative Council, and tell us where he got that Reserve speech of Mr. Malcolm Cameron?
