Lord J. Russell moved the Lords’ amendments to the Lower Canada Government Bill be agreed to,
Sir C. Grey begged to know in what they consisted?
Mr. Labouchere said, that the most important one was this. The bill, as sent to the Lords, gave a general power to the

Legislative Council to alter the tenure of land; and the Lords had simply restricted legislation upon that subject to the island of Montreal.
